Continuing Nursing Education 

Professionals who wish to receive a contact hour certificate must 1) complete all course requirements and 2) register online after completing the activity and pay a recordkeeping fee of $25 (VISA or Mastercard in US Funds). You will be able to print your own certificate online and have access to your records online for at least six years.

A certificate for 3 or 6 contact hours will be awarded, depending on which course is completed.

Nurses:

  • Continuing Nursing Education at the University of Washington School of Nursing (UWCNE) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

  • UWCNE is approved as a clock hour provider by the Washington State Board of Education.

  • Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #7218.
     

Psychologists: UWCNE qualifies as a Washington State CE program sponsor under Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-924-240.

Respiratory Therapists: UWCNE qualifies as a Washington State CE program sponsor under Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 246-928-442.

Social Workers and Counselors: UWCNE qualifies as a Washington State CE program sponsor under WAC 246-809-610.

Other Disciplines: A certificate will be awarded for use in documenting completion of this offering.

Method of Participation

To participate, register and then follow emailed instructions to create a Learning Management System account and access the course. The fee is $49 for the 3-hour course and $98 for the 6-hour course. Providers affiliated with the University of Washington Physicians (UWP), Seattle Children’s active medical staff (Children's employed and Children's University Medical Group [CUMG]), or Seattle Children's Care Network (SCCN) receive subsidized training.

 

To receive contact hour credit, participants must complete the online educational activity followed by an evaluation and a post-test. The evaluation and post-test will be emailed within 3 business days of course completion. To be eligible for contact hour credit, participants must receive a minimum score of 75% on the post-test, with two attempts allowed. After successfully completing the post-test, participants must register online with UW CNE and pay a recordkeeping fee of $25 (VISA or Mastercard in US Funds). You will be able to print your own certificate online and have access to your records online for at least six years.

Estimated Time to Complete

This activity consists of 2 courses, each of which should take approximately 3 hours to complete. Participants will complete one or both courses depending on their licensure requirements.
